We at AAMP are very excited to have a new format to provide mental health practitioners across the state with news and information related to what is occurring in the mental health field of Arkansas.

We are also very excited about our upcoming fall conference, which will be held on September 6, 2013 at the Doubletree Hotel in Downtown Little Rock.

For the annual fall conference, AAMP will be hosting Kelly G. Wilson, PhD. Kelly Wilson is not only a dynamic and exciting speaker but also an expert on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Kelly G. Wilson, Ph.D. is the primary provider of training services for ACT. Dr. Wilson is on the faculty of the Psychology Department at the University of Mississippi. he is co-author of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: An Experiential Approach to Behavior Change, Terapia de Aceptión y Compromiso: Un Tratamiento Conductual Centrado en los Valores, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Chronic Pain, as well as over 55 articles and chapters on related basic and applied issues. His work includes the investigation of acceptance, mindfulness, and values-oriented strategies in the treatment of a variety of problems in living as well as in the basic behavioral science underlying therapeutic change.
